“Beginning Again: A New Year of Renewal and Possibility” Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year Led by Gary Schoenberg, Rev. Susan Manning, and Music by Rev. Deva Troy

Rosh Hashanah, commemorating the creation of the world and humanity, is the Jewish New Year. It begins on the new moon of Tishrei and initiates the “Ten Days of Repentance,” a period dedicated to self-reflection, spiritual renewal, and divine judgment that is associated with the fall season.

This celebration will be the first bookend of the 2 Jewish high holidays that invites us to pause, awaken, reflect on the year that has passed, and consciously choose how we want to enter the year ahead as one of the most important seasons in the Jewish spiritual year.

Yom Kippur will be the 2nd bookend the following Sunday that will focus on the theme of “Reflection, Forgiveness & Repair”.

The following elements will be included in the Rosh Hashanah Celebration:

Setting our intentions • Prayers for renewal and healing • Blowing of the shofar to “awaken us” • Reflecting on “what do I want to begin again” • Apples and Honey • Community hopes for the New Year.

Join us at 10:30 a.m. in the Red Barn or on Zoom!

Please plan to arrive by 10:30 AM to experience the fullness of the Celebration!
