On July 20th, Friday from 2pm-7pm there will be a Red Cross blood drive.
During this time of year, local blood supplies are at their lowest because of low attendance at blood drives, lack of student donations at colleges and usage from summer accidents. There are patients who need blood on a regular basis as well as loved ones who have that very rare blood type. Please come out and join us on July 20th to donate blood and platelets.
Please invite a friend, family member or coworker to join you in donating. You just have to be in general good health, feeling well, be at least 17 years old and meet the weight requirements.
Donating blood is very safe, you can’t get and infectious disease from giving blood because they always use new, sterile needles that are discard after one use. The American Red Cross will give you a mini-physical at your appointment to ensure you are healthy enough to donate. They will check your temperature, blood pressure, pulse and hemoglobin.
Volunteers are needed to hand out promotional material, promote the blood drive and be there to open and close the church on the day of the drive. Please contact me at JoWolke@gmail.com if you are interested in donating blood or volunteering at the Church.
Blessings,
