With this Celebration we move into the season of spring and rebirthing, which will feature Ramadan (this Sunday), Passover (next Sunday) and Easter (April 17), a spiritually powerful trifecta of three religions that are all rooted in one ancient tradition: Judaism.
This Sunday our celebration will focus on rebirth and the Islamic holiday of Ramadan. It will include Nancy sharing on “Ideas Old and New;” Bill Mettler performing to the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy;” Rocky Wilson performing as Barbara Weikamp sings “The Rose;” and Joni Ben Nacef, offering an Islamic prayer and speaking on “Ramadan: A Time of Renewal” (a brief introduction to the holy month of Ramadan and an exploration of the beautiful opportunity it presents for renewing ourselves.)
Following the celebration, Nancy will bring out Flowrence Crouthamel’s ashes “to release her back to the Earth…at her home: Pebble Hill.” She invites the congregation to join her in taking ashes “and, remembering this very special member of our family, placing them somewhere on the grounds.”
There may be a picnic, weather permitting.
