What Do You Believe? Lead by Rev. Rosalind Cauffman.
If someone asked you to say in 300 words or less, what is your most deeply held belief, what would you say? Think about it and share it with us this Sunday. You could also share a short reading.
Also, we will be addressing the recent Black Lives Matter protests in Doylestown. The Church Council has met on this and Larry Hall has written a draft statement of support to be delivered to Doylestown Borough Council. The statement is attached to this email; be sure to take a look at it so we can discuss it this Sunday. If we want to remain relevant, it’s time to step up!
The idea for “This I Believe” is based on the series of the same name which ran for four years in the 1950s. It’s a great “listen” that you can find online at This I Believe : NPR. Each week a different person reads an essay they have written about their most deeply held beliefs. The short talks are submitted by people from all walks of life, from Albert Einstein’s deeply spiritual essay saying the most beautiful thing we can experience “is the mysterious, the knowledge of the existence of something unfathomable to us,” to the story of an out-of-luck stranger taken in by poor neighbors who learns the importance of community, to a 12-year-old girl who loves the Beatles because of a song that her father played to call a lost dog home.
Celebration starts at 10:30 a.m.
We are continuing virtual celebrations but we are allowing people to enter the Celebration space to watch the presentation on their phones, tablets or laptops. JoAnne Wolke will be present to coordinate. Please wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and social distance. The windows will be opened and the ceiling exhaust fan will be turned on to draw in fresh air. We will limit the number inside to 25.
Please join Celebration from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
