Return Again to the Land of Your Soul

Gary Schoenberg, our resident Pebble Hill Rabbinic, will be our presenter where he will offer us a taste of the experience of the Jewish High Holy Day Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, one of Judaism’s holiest days. Rosh Hashanah, meaning “head of the year” or “first of the year,” begins on the new moon on the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar, which falls during September or October.  

Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world according to Jewish tradition and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the two “High Holy Days” in the Jewish religion.  Observant Jews consider Rosh Hashanah and the days surrounding it a time for prayer, good deeds, reflecting on past mistakes and making amends with others.

Gary will share about the Jewish tradition of Rosh Hashanah with chants, songs, inspiring messages, and an opportunity for inner self reflection.  

Janet Berkowitz will present will share her own perspective of the Jewish Holy Day and the impact of the themes of forgiveness, self reflection, getting in right relationship with God and others. 

This will be an interactive Celebration where you will be invited to take a walk down the path along this journey with Gary and Janet towards greater awakening and deeper connection with source as we “Return to the land of your soul”.
