A great Christmas Story.  Last night I attended a jazz concert – at the Clef Club in Philadelphia.  Somehow I dropped my cell phone on the streets of Philadelphia.  I went crazy in the middle of last night trying to find it – used Verna’s phone to call my phone thinking my phone was in the house somewhere or in the car.  This morning at 6:20, a call came in to Verna’s phone and a person said he found a phone on the streets in Philadelphia.  Also, said he was not sure how to get it back to me because he lived in the suburbs.  I inquired where…informed he lived in Doylestown!!!  Turned out he was an old apparently Indian gentlemen who lived in a very small house a few blocks from my Courthouse.  Lived in that small house for 25 years and that was the only 5th time in Philadelphia in 25 years.  He got out of a cab and the phone was at his feet.  Also turns out two of my best friends from my small church here in Doylestown are neighbors of his.

He re-united me with my phone 45 minutes ago.  Refused to accept a substantial reward stating this is the Christmas season and this was his gift to a stranger.  I asked if there was anything I could do for him.  He said the one thing he really wants, is a small job somewhere doing anything.  He has a Ph.D and simply cannot find work.

This email is my attempt to get this act of kindness recognized and help my stranger new friend Narayan Acharya (phone number (215 230-9067) find a job.
