Dear Ones,
We are happily reviving the Pebble Hill Garden as part of our service to the wider community. Produce is grown and donated to local food banks, as was our tradition for many years.
The Good Folk Project has graciously agreed to lead us in this effort. Thanks to Mike Sturgeon and Andy Wright, as well as Gretchen Altabef, who shepherded the garden in past decades, for their ongoing support on this project. And the day care director is very glad to see the garden coming back to life.
Lindsay Troyer is the head of Good Folk and has already raised funds, recruited volunteers and begun preparations. She met with me, Andy and Mike on Earth Day. Fence repair is underway and compost has been delivered. I am the liaison to Good Folk from Council.
While Good Folk is responsible for raising funds and carrying out the project, Pebble people are very welcome to contribute their time and talent. This Saturday April 26th in the morning, Lindsay and a few others will be undertaking some cleanup. If you would like to come and help, email or text me for details on the time.
We welcome anyone who wishes to join a Garden Committee to contact me. Watch for announcements and activity as April turns into May! (Note that I’ll be out of town from 4/25 to 5/16.)
Gratefully, Barbara Atkinson
