Note: Due to the rain predicted for Saturday, the day to clean up the garden is now Sunday. Lindsay Troyer of Good Folk Project will be out there from 9 am to 2 pm.  Please wear boots for soggy ground, pants with socks to prevent ticks, hats, and bring a water bottle. She will have bug spray (DEET-free) and gloves, but feel free to bring yours too.

Since I’ll be out of town, you may RSVP or ask questions of Lindsay at goodfolkproject@gmail.com.

Dear Ones,

We are happily reviving the Pebble Hill Garden as part of our service to the wider community. Produce will be grown and donated to local food banks, as was our tradition for many years.

The Good Folk Project has graciously agreed to lead us in this effort. Thanks to Mike Sturgeon and Andy Wright, as well as Gretchen Altabef, who shepherded the garden in past decades, for their ongoing support on this project. And the day care director is very glad to see the garden coming back to life.

Lindsay Troyer is the head of Good Folk and has already raised funds, recruited volunteers and begun planning. She met with me, Andy and Mike on Earth Day to learn more about their experience. Fence repair is underway and compost has been delivered. Note that I am the liaison to Good Folk from Council.

While Good Folk is responsible for raising funds and carrying out the entire project, Pebble people are very welcome to contribute their time and talent. This Sunday April 27th (see times above), Lindsay and a few others will be undertaking another round of cleanup.

We also welcome anyone who wishes to join the Pebble Garden Committee to contact me.  Watch for announcements, activity, and opportunities to connect as April turns into May! (Note that I’ll be out of town from 4/25 to 5/16.)

Gratefully, Barbara Atkinson
