Fill your inner child to the brim. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is an experiential moment in time where we will be free to play like kids. Come join in interactive movement, theater and art games. We will talk with crayons and listen with our whole bodies.
Janet Berkowitz has devoted her life to play and the nurturance of the inner child. Carrying her magic toolbox of interactive games, art projects, movement and theater exercises and healing role plays, she spins a web of safety for the expression all emotions. She believes that loving our pain and judgments is the way to the other side of them and knows that there can be fun in the process, finding ‘magic in the tragic’. She is a professional mime and works in the mental health field, specializing in suicide prevention. As a peer specialist with lived experience, she travels throughout the tri-state area working in mental health facilities, designing and facilitating creative arts workshops for all ages.
Janet taught drama to children for many years and now focuses on adults with emotional challenges. She produces a performance called ‘The Wizard of Iz‘ on bullying and suicide prevention. She serves on the NJ Adult Suicide Prevention Council and the NJ Stakeholders 988 Council, designing a new phone number for mental health emergencies. She also leads a monthly group called Emotions In Motion, which welcomes anyone wishing to creatively process personal issues. Her website is creativecrisiscare.com.
