with the irrepressible Janet Berkowitz!

Out of life-saving necessity, Janet Berkowitz, has made the practice of self love an art form and joyous ride. What better day than Valentine’s for her to share her experience with marrying herself and her creative multi-colored tool box she uses to stay close to her heart? The famous duo of Gary Schoenberg and Janet will perform a skit and she will reenact a part of her self wedding ceremony.

Janet describes her life as a creative practice of making sweet lemonade from extremely bitter lemons. Having dealt with internal rage and suicidal ideation most of her life as a result of daily childhood bullying, she has built a career dedicated to healing these challenges in others, particularly in Mental Health.

Her business, Creative Crisis Care, has grown from her experience as a peer counselor, which includes a history of bipolar disorder and talent as a teacher. She facilitates workshops using art, improv, movement, mime and poetry to guide people of all ages. She serves on the NJ Adult and Teen Suicide Prevention Committees. She is currently starring in a play she wrote on suicide and bullying prevention, called ‘The Wizard of Iz’ (Iz, sister city of Oz, is where the desperate go). She performs as a professional mime, specializing in skits on mental illness.

An avid student of A Course In Miracles and A Course In Love (the sequel), she weaves her varied and rich spiritual life into her work to support navigation “Home to Godhood”…with as much fun as possible…Joy-ti-tude!  Her work can be seen on her website, creativecrisiscare.com
