The 75th Anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima was yesterday. It makes me sad that we’ve had 75 years to digest that horror and ensure that it never happens again, yet none of the countries harboring nuclear arsenals have forsworn their use.  Not only that but the spread of atomic weapons continues. Only America had atomic weapons in 1945.  There are now nine members of the atomic club: the US, UK, Russia, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea, with Iran struggling to become number ten.

In some way the topics of touch and nuclear annihilation became intertwined in my thoughts. Maybe it was because of the emotional devastation being wrought by the separation and isolation experienced by so many in this pandemic.  Just click the links in blue and read on.

Rev. Larry – On sharing touch and the inexpressible in a simple handshake

Okay, girls and boys; I’m leaving you with this important message about sharing touch (or not : )

Greet Someone Without Touching – Jack Hartmann & Kids Music Channel

If you can’t have a hug or touch a hand today, how about touching someone’s heart with a phone call, a text…or even just a smile (people seem to know if you’re smiling, even when wearing a mask. It lights up the eyes.)
