Welcome to the Pebble Hill Church Africa Fund!
Since 2006 we have assisted basic needs of children, education, health care, elder care, and job training, in the Southern African country of Namibia.
We are aligned in purpose with the UN Millenium Goals for 2015, doing our part as a One Church - One Family model, part of a global partnership in struggle to rise from the legacy of colonial rule and Apartheid in the world’s second youngest democracy (independence 1990)
Please join us as we Prove that a single small church can make a real, interpersonal difference in the lives of an extended family, which can be a model for all faith based organizations and individuals who want to change inequity, and build international peace and friendship!
“Do something wonderful. Others may imitate it!” Albert Schweitzer
Since 2006 we have sponsored four Namibian children’s basic education who would otherwise not be able to attend school (Millenium Goal 3: Universal Primary Education). We know these children from their letters and texting communications. They cherish the opportunity for education with all their hearts! (Diana 18, Valentine, 13, Abraham, 12, Levi, 7)
In 2012 our second goal is to sponsor Memory Kutaa’s training and certification in computer and software literacy, to enable a job worthy of her long standing commitment as a primary bread winner for her extended family, working long hours at impossibly low wages. Millenium Goal 3: Empowerment of Women. We have provided other job training, and business consultation for empowerment of four young adults since 2006.
We provide hunger and basic relief on occasion as needed and long term help to empower independence, Goal 1: End extreme poverty & hunger. We provide medical care and assistance when needed, including care we have provided for HIV/AIDS. Namibia is in the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We lost a sister to AIDS at age 23, and we are now part of the world wide effort to bring an AIDS free generation in the near future, blessed by the now available treatment and prevention education efforts (Millennium Goal #7) As President Obama said on World Aids Day, “We will Win This Fight!”
