Hughes was previously a teacher at the River Valley Waldorf School in Upper Black Eddy   Hughes found the parents of Doylestown very eager to immerse their children and their families in the interdisciplinary pedagogy. “I really believed that there was a community in Doylestown that was eager for this type of program,” Hughes said. Waldorf teaching stresses coordination with the natural rhythms of every life. For the young child there is a departure from the academic curriculum found at most preschools.  Instead, children are encouraged to play freely within a structured rhythm of daily activities that includes practical chores, songs and art projects, gracefully building a foundation for learning that will later serve the child during the grade school years and beyond. Hughes passion is evident in her patient and demonstrative demeanor. “I’ve always known that I wanted to work with children,” Hughes admits.   Morning Glory Children is a Waldorf-inspired program for children age 0-7.  The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of the child as indicated by Rudolf Steiner.
